Celebrate Pensacola, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to commemorate and educate the public of the 450th anniversary of the founding of the first European settlement in the United States. The purpose of Celebrate Pensacola, Inc. is to re-establish the concept of a seven-year commemoration of Pensacola’s important place in our nation’s history.  Events would begin in 2008 with a 450-day celebration of our 450th anniversary, ending August 15, 2009. Celebrate Pensacola will culminate in 2014 with the 100th Anniversary of Naval aviation in Pensacola at the Pensacola Naval Air Station. It is the intention of the leadership of the Celebrate Pensacola committee and community leaders to procure funds from local and state governments through grants as well as private donations to assist in funding these anniversaries.
