As part of the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation's Discovery Saturday series, we are pleased to welcome back aviation author Mr. Brad Elward as he presents the "S-3 Viking". A book signing of his book "S-3 Viking - In Action" will follow his presentation. The Lockheed S-3 Viking was developed in the late 1960's to serve as a dedicated carrier-based anti submarine aircraft. Over the years, it evolved into an outstanding surveillance and anit-surface platform, effective not only against submarines but also large and small surface ships. Learn about the aircraft's role in Operation Desert Storm and how lessons learned impacted the Viking's mission during latter pat of 1990's and 2000's. "Discovery Saturday" is FREE and open to the public.
