The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will be hosting the second Lionfish Removal and Awareness Day Festival and Tournament with the help of sponsors like Guy Harvey Magazine, Coast Watch Alliance, Escambia County Marine Resources, City of Pensacola Parks & Recreation, Visit Pensacola, and tournament host Gulf Coast Lionfish Coalition. This event will include celebrity chef demonstrations, lionfish tastings, fillet demos, family-friendly activities such as games and a fountain to play in, and diving and conservation vendors.

Sertoma's Independence Day Celebration
Events begin 11 a.m. | Fireworks 9 p.m.
For the 27th year, area Sertoma organizations are coordinating and hosting the largest Fireworks display on the Gulf Coast over Pensacola Bay on Monday, July 4th, 2016, at 9:00 pm. There will be activities throughout the day, from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm, in Seville Square to include a FREE Childrens Area with inflatables, pony rides, rock climbing wall, meet and greet with characters, face painting, Lowes kids clinic and much more! There will also be a variety of Arts and Crafts vendors, Food vendors, and live entertainment on the gazebo stage beginning at 11:00 am. Of course, the 4th of July would not be complete without a Hot Dog Eating Contest! Be sure to sign up early as the contest begins promptly at noon! Starting at 4:30, there will be live music on the Bayfront Stage. The festivities will culminate with the fireworks show over Pensacola Bay, synchronized with music broadcast on Cat Country 98.7.

Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival
Festival hours are Friday & Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The three-day, juried art show draws more than 200 of the nations best painters, potters, sculptors, jewelers, graphic artists, craftsmen and other artists. The event features live musicians in Fountain Park with sounds ranging from Zydeco, bluegrass, jazz and blues to classical. Local dance schools and groups perform daily. The Children's Arts Festival is next door in Bartram Park, featuring numerous hands-on artistic opportunities provided free of charge. The Childrens Festival is open Friday for children with special needs from selected schools and is open to everyone on Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

12th Annual Pensacola Marathon

12th Annual Pensacola Marathon

The race begins and ends at Veteran's Memorial Park on the bayfront then winds its way along a 13.1 mile circuit of the city for the half marathoners and a full 26.2 loop for the full marathon. The course features running through historic neighborhoods, the downtown district, bands, and cheering Pensacolians. The finish line is next to the only replica of the National Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C. The Pensacola Marathon is also a Boston Qualifier for you still needing to qualify.

26th annual two day event of intertribal dancing, displays and teaching of heritage and customs, great foods and large groups of Native American vendors with authentic crafts. Come be a part of this Pow Wow. (Directions: Turn south at Walgreens in Pace, follow Floridatown Rd; approximately 1-1/2 miles to the banks of Pensacola Bay; park is on the left.)
