Pensacola Double Bridge Run

The Pensacola Double Bridge Run 15K carries runners over two bridges, across Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound. It will run from downtown Pensacola with a tour that includes the historic district, and picturesque Bayfront Parkway, a run through Gulf Breeze, and onto Pensacola Beach. The 5K invites both runners and walkers to travel from Gulf Breeze to beautiful Pensacola Beach on Santa Rosa Island and the Gulf Islands Seashore.

Event begins at 9 a.m. Each Runner/Walker predicts how long it will take them to complete the course, the finishers that come closest to their prediction wins. Awards are also given for speed winners in several male, female and team categories.

Celebrate the Arts is a juried, fine arts and crafts festival that brings quality national, regional and local artists to Gulf Breeze, Florida. The two-day fine arts & fine crafts festival is a family event. More than 140 artists from across the US and beyond will be selected by a jury of fine artist professionals. Artwork categories include ceramics & pottery, oils & acrylics, glass, sculpture, watercolor, wood, fiber & leather, jewelry, mixed media, graphics, photography and other. Cash awards of $7,000 will be awarded to the winning artists. We will also have a childrens entertainment and student artwork area, GBAI Member Art Show/Sale, a wide variety of festival food vendors, plus music and entertainment.

Danny O'Flaherty is a Native Irish speaker from Conemara, Ireland who emigrated to the United States in the 1970's. He has performed for heads of state such as President Ronald Reagan, President Herzog of Israel, and Pope John Paul II at the National Cathedral. He is the recipient of many awards and nominations and is dedicated to preserving Celtic Culture and pride in Celtic heritage. Danny is a singer, songwriter, storyteller, and musician who combines warmth and spirit to bring the long history of Irish and American folk music home to your heart.

Professional barbecue teams from around the U.S. will gather to compete at the first barbecue contest locally to be sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KSBS). Professional teams will be competing for prize money and points. Local barbecue enthusiasts also will be competing for prize money and bragging rights in the Backyard competition. Great family fun, entertainment, and food. Proceeds go to local charities.

Sertoma's Independence Day Celebration
Events begin 11 a.m. | Fireworks 9 p.m.
For the 27th year, area Sertoma organizations are coordinating and hosting the largest Fireworks display on the Gulf Coast over Pensacola Bay on Monday, July 4th, 2016, at 9:00 pm. There will be activities throughout the day, from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm, in Seville Square to include a FREE Childrens Area with inflatables, pony rides, rock climbing wall, meet and greet with characters, face painting, Lowes kids clinic and much more! There will also be a variety of Arts and Crafts vendors, Food vendors, and live entertainment on the gazebo stage beginning at 11:00 am. Of course, the 4th of July would not be complete without a Hot Dog Eating Contest! Be sure to sign up early as the contest begins promptly at noon! Starting at 4:30, there will be live music on the Bayfront Stage. The festivities will culminate with the fireworks show over Pensacola Bay, synchronized with music broadcast on Cat Country 98.7.

Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival
Festival hours are Friday & Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The three-day, juried art show draws more than 200 of the nations best painters, potters, sculptors, jewelers, graphic artists, craftsmen and other artists. The event features live musicians in Fountain Park with sounds ranging from Zydeco, bluegrass, jazz and blues to classical. Local dance schools and groups perform daily. The Children's Arts Festival is next door in Bartram Park, featuring numerous hands-on artistic opportunities provided free of charge. The Childrens Festival is open Friday for children with special needs from selected schools and is open to everyone on Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
