Sertoma's Independence Day Celebration
Events begin 11 a.m.; Fireworks 9 p.m.
For the 26th year, area Sertoma organizations are once again coordinating and hosting the largest Fireworks display on the Gulf Coast over Pensacola Bay. There will be activities throughout the day, from 11:00 am until 6:30 pm, in Seville Square to include a FREE Childrens Area with inflatables and pony rides, Arts and Crafts vendors, Food vendors, and live entertainment on the gazebo stage beginning at 11:00 am, with a Hot Dog Eating Contest at noon! Starting at 4:00, there will be live music on the Bayfront Stage, featuring regional bands. The festivities will culminate with the fireworks show over Pensacola Bay, synchronized with music broadcast on Cat Country FM 98.7.

Red Trolley Tour
6:30 p.m. (tours approximately 90 mins.)
Hop aboard a Red Trolley tour for a lighthearted ride designed for children and other fun-loving fans of scary pirates and colorful characters of Pensacola lore. The ride begins with pirate snacks chocolate-covered insects, bloody finger food and minty maggots and concludes after a ride through downtown Pensacola and a treasure hunt with prizes for all participants. Tickets cost $5 for children, $20 for adults.

The Red Trolley Tour, aimed at children, spoofs history as narrators lead the way on a treasure hunt through downtown Pensacola. The evening begins with a choice of appetizers bloody finger food, minty maggots and chocolate-covered insects and a selection of eye patches and other pirate regalia for the children. Then the trolley takes the passengers in search of buried treasure. Leading the tours is the Red Trolley Troupe, a group of local actors who conduct the lighthearted events each summer.

Dogs on Deployment is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit providing a central network for military members to find volunteers willing to board their pets while they are deployed or have other service commitments, making them unable to temporarily care for their pets. No pet should ever be surrendered to a shelter due to a military commitment. DoD exists to help military members keep their pets by alleviating the need for pet relinquishment from military members due to the hardships of deployments.

Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival
Festival hours are Friday & Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The three-day, juried art show draws more than 200 of the nations best painters, potters, sculptors, jewelers, graphic artists, craftsmen and other artists. The event features live musicians in Fountain Park with sounds ranging from Zydeco, bluegrass, jazz and blues to classical. Local dance schools and groups perform daily. The Children's Arts Festival is next door in Bartram Park, featuring numerous hands-on artistic opportunities provided free of charge. The Childrens Festival is open Friday for children with special needs from selected schools and is open to everyone on Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

11th Annual Pensacola Marathon

The race begins and ends at Veteran's Memorial Park on the bayfront then winds its way along a 13.1 mile circuit of the city for the half marathoners and a full 26.2 loop for the full marathon. The course features running through historic neighborhoods, the downtown district, bands, and cheering Pensacolians. The finish line is next to the only replica of the National Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C. The Pensacola Marathon is also a Boston Qualifier for you still needing to qualify.

33rd Annual Pensacola Christmas Parade

The Christmas Parade includes local bands from every high school in Escambia County, groups from around the region, and as far away as Houston and New Orleans. The Cox Pensacola Christmas Parade profits go to local high school band booster organizations to assist in the purchasing of uniforms and equipment and funding of travel expenses. Preceding the parade is the popular 1.2 miles Christmas Parade Dash, sponsored by the Pensacola Runners Association. With nearly 400 participants each year, the Dash uses the Cox Pensacola Christmas parade route just prior to the start of the parade. The race begins at 5:00 pm and is a maze through the downtown area lined with thousands of people cheering. The course ends at Plaza Ferdinand where a large candy cane is handed to each finisher. The Pensacola Double Bridge Run 15K carries runners over two bridges, across Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound. It will run from downtown Pensacola with a tour that includes the historic district, and picturesque Bayfront Parkway, a run through Gulf Breeze, and onto Pensacola Beach. The 5K invites both runners and walkers to travel from Gulf Breeze to beautiful Pensacola Beach on Santa Rosa Island and the Gulf Islands Seashore.

Artwork categories include ceramics & pottery, oils & acrylics, glass, sculpture, watercolor, wood, fiber & leather, jewelry, mixed media, graphics, photography and other. Cash awards of $7,000 will be awarded to the winning artists. We will also have a childrens entertainment and student artwork area, GBAI Member Art Show/Sale, a wide variety of festival food vendors, plus music and entertainment.

Professional barbecue teams from around the U.S. will gather to compete at the first barbecue contest locally to be sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KSBS). Professional teams will be competing for prize money and points. Local barbecue enthusiasts also will be competing for prize money and bragging rights in the Backyard competition. Great family fun, entertainment, and food. Proceeds go to local charities.
