Jacksonian Guard Colors Ceremony
Saturdays 6:00 p.m.
Reenactment of Jacksonian era soldiers, fifers and drummers performing a Colors Ceremony in period 1821 uniforms, offering military salutes, manual of arms, fife and drum music and, the lowering of a replica 23-star flag that first flew over the Plaza. The ceremony commemorates Pensacola's 195th birthday & Florida as a U.S. Territory and will last approximately 25 minutes, including questions and photos with tourists.

Sertoma's Independence Day Celebration
Events begin 11 a.m. | Fireworks 9 p.m.
For the 27th year, area Sertoma organizations are coordinating and hosting the largest Fireworks display on the Gulf Coast over Pensacola Bay on Monday, July 4th, 2016, at 9:00 pm. There will be activities throughout the day, from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm, in Seville Square to include a FREE Childrens Area with inflatables, pony rides, rock climbing wall, meet and greet with characters, face painting, Lowes kids clinic and much more! There will also be a variety of Arts and Crafts vendors, Food vendors, and live entertainment on the gazebo stage beginning at 11:00 am. Of course, the 4th of July would not be complete without a Hot Dog Eating Contest! Be sure to sign up early as the contest begins promptly at noon! Starting at 4:30, there will be live music on the Bayfront Stage. The festivities will culminate with the fireworks show over Pensacola Bay, synchronized with music broadcast on Cat Country 98.7.

The Pensacola Historic Preservation Society presents its 22nd Antique Appraisal Fair at Garths Antiques and Auction Gallery on Saturday, September 3, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This will be an opportunity for the public to bring items for area antique dealers and experts to appraise. Tickets are $5.00 per person, which allows you to have one object appraised. Additional objects may be appraised for $3.00 apiece.Tickets will be available at the door.

Pensacola Dragon Boat Festival
Festival begins 8:00 a.m. | Races begin 9:00 a.m. | Closing ceremonies 5:00 p.m.
Led by the rhythmic beat of a drum, teams of 20 synchronized paddlers, one drummer and one steersperson race 300 meters up the river in 40-foot canoes rigged with decorative Chinese dragon heads and tails. Each race will be about 12 minutes apart with a break for lunch.

Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival
Festival hours are Friday & Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The three-day, juried art show draws more than 200 of the nations best painters, potters, sculptors, jewelers, graphic artists, craftsmen and other artists. The event features live musicians in Fountain Park with sounds ranging from Zydeco, bluegrass, jazz and blues to classical. Local dance schools and groups perform daily. The Children's Arts Festival is next door in Bartram Park, featuring numerous hands-on artistic opportunities provided free of charge. The Childrens Festival is open Friday for children with special needs from selected schools and is open to everyone on Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The race begins and ends at Veteran's Memorial Park on the bayfront then winds its way along a 13.1 mile circuit of the city for the half marathoners and a full 26.2 loop for the full marathon. The course features running through historic neighborhoods, the downtown district, bands, and cheering Pensacolians. The finish line is next to the only replica of the National Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C. The Pensacola Marathon is also a Boston Qualifier for you still needing to qualify.

Bayou Hills Run 10K-5K-Kids Run

The Bayou Hills Run, presented by Creative Learning Academy is a family-friendly 10K-5K and Kids 1 Mile Run in Bayview Park. The Bayou Hills Run is one of the area's only 10K and is a wonderful challenge through the hills of East Hill in Pensacola.
