Rafi Solo Art Show YOU ARE HERE: The Strange Curiosity of RIGHT NOW
Rafi is a mixed media painter whose works include a variety of subjects in several styles. Rafis most recent body of work reflects his fascination with the human figure and individual emotional impressionistic portraits. Special pieces for this collection will debut at this show including sculpture and installation. Opening Reception on September 11th from 6PM-10PM.

Pensacola Dragon Boat Festival
Festival begins 8:00 a.m. | Races begin 9:00 a.m. | Closing ceremonies 5:00 p.m.
Led by the rhythmic beat of a drum, teams of 20 synchronized paddlers, one drummer and one steersperson race 300 meters up the river in 40-foot canoes rigged with decorative Chinese dragon heads and tails. Each race will be about 12 minutes apart with a break for lunch. During the day, DJ Gus will play music keep everyone up to date on race stats. Coastal Fire will provide live entertainment throughout the day. Also, a childrens festival and vendor fair will be going on throughout the entire day!

Dogs on Deployment 1ST Annual Poker Run-Pensacola Chapter

Dogs on Deployment is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit providing a central network for military members to find volunteers willing to board their pets while they are deployed or have other service commitments, making them unable to temporarily care for their pets. No pet should ever be surrendered to a shelter due to a military commitment. DoD exists to help military members keep their pets by alleviating the need for pet relinquishment from military members due to the hardships of deployments.

The 3rd Annual Pensacola Mud Run is a 5 mile/ 20 obstacle course with a 1 mile/ 5 obstacle Kid Run situated on 150 acres north of Pensacola. This is a family-friendly fun run with 20 challenging obstacles. Runners can all expect to slip, slide, climb, jump, slog, and swing their way to a fun finish where food, refreshments, and showers are waiting. The morning will start with our timed Competitive Heat, followed by numerous Non-Competitive Heats throughout the day, and lastly ending with the Kids Run. We will have timers running, but runners will be responsible for their own time tracking. The object is to have fun and complete the run, not to finish first.

Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival
Festival hours are Friday & Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. | Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The three-day, juried art show draws more than 200 of the nations best painters, potters, sculptors, jewelers, graphic artists, craftsmen and other artists. The event features live musicians in Fountain Park with sounds ranging from Zydeco, bluegrass, jazz and blues to classical. Local dance schools and groups perform daily. The Children's Arts Festival is next door in Bartram Park, featuring numerous hands-on artistic opportunities provided free of charge. The Childrens Festival is open Friday for children with special needs from selected schools and is open to everyone on Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

11th Annual Pensacola Marathon
6:30 a.m.
The race begins and ends at Veteran's Memorial Park on the bayfront then winds its way along a 13.1 mile circuit of the city for the half marathoners and a full 26.2 loop for the full marathon. The course features running through historic neighborhoods, the downtown district, bands, and cheering Pensacolians. The finish line is next to the only replica of the National Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C. The Pensacola Marathon is also a Boston Qualifier for you still needing to qualify.

Bringing together visionary artists, the Clean Energy Fest is celebrating the future of clean energy through live music, food, art competitions and much more. A juried art competition, The Future of Energy asked artists of all ages to showcase an energy future (wind, solar, people power, etc.) in all genres of art and design. Artwork for this innovative exhibition will be judged by artists and designers from the Gulf Coast professional art community, university faculty and clean energy initiative leaders. The popular regional folk duo, Sassafras, and other local music groups will perform throughout the day. There will also be fun activities for children and clean energy displays showcasing the present and future potential for our Clean Energy Future.

33rd Annual Pensacola Christmas Parade

The Christmas Parade includes local bands from every high school in Escambia County, groups from around the region, and as far away as Houston and New Orleans. The Cox Pensacola Christmas Parade profits go to local high school band booster organizations to assist in the purchasing of uniforms and equipment and funding of travel expenses. Preceding the parade is the popular 1.2 miles Christmas Parade Dash, sponsored by the Pensacola Runners Association. With nearly 400 participants each year, the Dash uses the Cox Pensacola Christmas parade route just prior to the start of the parade. The race begins at 5:00 pm and is a maze through the downtown area lined with thousands of people cheering. The course ends at Plaza Ferdinand where a large candy cane is handed to each finisher. The Pensacola Double Bridge Run 15K carries runners over two bridges, across Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound. It will run from downtown Pensacola with a tour that includes the historic district, and picturesque Bayfront Parkway, a run through Gulf Breeze, and onto Pensacola Beach. The 5K invites both runners and walkers to travel from Gulf Breeze to beautiful Pensacola Beach on Santa Rosa Island and the Gulf Islands Seashore.

Professional teams will be competing for prize money and points. Local barbecue enthusiasts also will be competing for prize money and bragging rights in the Backyard competition. Great family fun, entertainment, and food. Proceeds go to local charities.
