Events begin 11am; Fireworks 9pm
For the 24rd year, area Sertoma organizations are once again coordinating and hosting the largest Fireworks display on the Gulf Coast over Pensacola Bay. There will be activities throughout the day, from 11:00 am until 6:30 pm, in Seville Square to include a FREE Childrens Area with inflatables and pony rides, Arts and Crafts vendors, Food vendors, and live entertainment on the gazebo stage beginning at 11:00 am, with a Hot Dog Eating Contest at noon! Starting at 4:00, there will be live music on the Bayfront Stage, featuring regional bands. The festivities will culminate with the fireworks show over Pensacola Bay, synchronized with music broadcast on Cat Country FM 98.7.

Held every year around the 4th of July, Ronald McDonald House Charities Firecracker 5K is a Gulf Coast favorite. The run, walk, wheelchair race always starts at Seville Quarter and winds through Downtown Pensacola. The tiniest athletes are invited to join the Rock the Socks Kids Fun Run immediately after the start of the race. The after party features free refreshments, race awards, and prizes.

Celebrity guests, over 30 panel discussions, workshops, video screenings, a masquerade ball, and music for the whole family to enjoy will also be a part of the spectacular three-day weekend event. "This year FANdom Con will host voice actors Eric Stuart of Pokemon, Eric Vale of Dragon Ball Z, and Chuck Huber of Soul Eater. Joining them are the author of Warm Bodies Isaac Marion, and actor Jerrad Vunovich of the Hunger Games: Catching Fire". FANdom Con hopes to surpass its 2012 total of 1,421 individually registered attendees.

Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival
Festival hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday
The three-day, juried art show draws more than 200 of the nations best painters, potters, sculptors, jewelers, graphic artists, craftsmen and other artists. The event features live musicians in Fountain Park with sounds ranging from Zydeco, bluegrass, jazz and blues to classical. Local dance schools and groups perform daily. The Children's Arts Festival is next door in Bartram Park, featuring numerous hands-on artistic opportunities provided free of charge. The Childrens Festival is open Friday for children with special needs from selected schools and is open to everyone on Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Cox Pensacola Christmas Parade

The Christmas Parade includes local bands from every high school in Escambia County, groups from around the region, and as far away as Houston and New Orleans. The Cox Pensacola Christmas Parade profits go to local high school band booster organizations to assist in the purchasing of uniforms and equipment and funding of travel expenses. Preceding the parade is the popular 1.2 miles Christmas Parade Dash, sponsored by the Pensacola Runners Association. With nearly 400 participants each year, the Dash uses the Cox Pensacola Christmas parade route just prior to the start of the parade. The race begins at 5:00 pm and is a maze through the downtown area lined with thousands of people cheering. The course ends at Plaza Ferdinand where a large candy cane is handed to each finisher. Pensacola Pelican Drop - Countdown to 2014
Throughout the evening the giant Pelican (14 feet tall, with a 20-foot wingspan) is perched above the celebration on a 100-foot platform at the intersection of Palafox and Government Streets. Although Palafox and Government Street will be closed to traffic, area restaurants will be open and additional vendors will be providing refreshments (no alcohol sales). Live performances on three outdoor stages provide ongoing entertainment throughout the evening. The popular kids' area will be expanded this year and will feature the special kids' countdown at 8 p.m. with confetti and the "bubble stomp." At the stroke of midnight, the whole city celebrates as the Pelican descends amidst fireworks and more confetti. The event has been a huge hit with over 50,000 revelers in attendance.

Professional teams will be competing for prize money and points. Local barbecue enthusiasts also will be competing for prize money and bragging rights in the Backyard competition. Great family fun, entertainment, and food. Proceeds go to local charities.
