Sales Updates
Convention and Corporate Sales Patti attended the Louisiana and Mississippi Society of Association Executives conference Sept. 28-30. This year’s theme, because of the election year, was red, white and blue. The Pensacola Bay Area CVB showcased our own Red (beautiful sunsets), White (sugary beaches) and Blue (the fabulous Blue Angels). Patti also encouraged attendees to “Vote for Pensacola” in 2009. Group Sales Lori will be meeting with travel professionals and consumers when exhibiting at the Southern Women’s Show in Birmingham, Oct. 3-5. Research shows that women make 80 percent of the family's purchasing decisions, including health, clothing, automotive, grocery, home and travel. The Women's Show Series attracts thousands of women, ages 25-64, who come to shop, evaluate, make decisions and buy. Representatives from SERHS, Spain’s largest tour company, will be visiting the Pensacola Bay Area Oct. 6–7 as part of an incentive trip. Pensacola was selected, along with several other destinations, for its Spanish heritage. The group will visit Historic Pensacola Village, the National Naval Aviation Museum and the Pensacola Lighthouse. Maria Davis, co-chairwoman of Celebrate Pensacola, will invite the group to bring back visitors in 2009 during our 450th anniversary. |
