Navarre Beach
State Park offers 130 acres of beautiful beach, lush
wetlands, and native vegetation. One-third of the park,
which opened in 2004, is completely undeveloped and
will remain this way. The perfect place for a picnic
or a stroll on the beach, the park provides visitors
with the option of playing gulf- or sound –side,
the latter of which has been dubbed, “Mom’s
Beach” because it offers children a haven for
getting wet.
As you ride along
the paved bike path, you will be mesmerized by the
Gulf of Mexico on one side and Santa Rosa Sound on
the other. Navarre Beach State Park is like no other
in Florida and offers state of the art camping facilities,
playground, pavilions, a fishing pier, and, coming
soon, a marine sanctuary. In the future, Navarre
Beach State Park rangers envision opening a visitor’s
nature center and offering an array of educational
programs, ranging from walking tours to Junior Ranger
programs to fishing contests.
The park and fishing pier have
sustained hurricane damage in 2004 and 2005. Please
call the Visitor Center for updated information:

Landscape & Wildlife: This
unspoiled beach stretch is known for its breathtaking
white quartz sand, and clear emerald Gulf waters.
Navarre Beach State Park is perfect for sun seekers,
birdwatchers and outdoor enthusiasts. The shoreline
boasts sand so clean and powdery white it literally
squeaks under your toes. Gigantic dunes and clusters
of sea oats are the perfect environment for outdoor
enthusiasts and wildlife watchers. Visitors enjoy
seeing coastal and aquatic wildlife such as bottlenose
dolphins, sea turtles, manta rays, and a variety
of shorebirds during the day, and breathtaking sunsets
in the evenings.
The warm Gulf waters also attract
a plethora of fish, making the region famous for
the beloved pastime of fishing. Anglers here hope
to catch cobia, redfish, mackerel, flounder, bonita,
Gulf kingfish, and Florida pompano.
