There’s no better way to begin your New Year than with your toes in the sand and a bushwhacker in your hand. But before you get there, you need to say your goodbyes to the old year and celebrate first. Here’s how to celebrate the new year, Pensacola style.
Celebrate with Style
Enjoy a swing, soul and blues-inspired performance celebrating the music of Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles and other timeless vocalists to kick off the new year at the Pensacola Saenger Theatre! The early evening performance begins at 7 p.m. so you’ll still have time to grab dinner, stop by a party or join the celebration downtown.
Dine & Delight
I’m a foodie at heart so one of the last things I always want to do before I welcome a new year is by enjoying a stellar meal and the Pensacola Bay Area has no shortcomings in that department. Multiple restaurants offer a celebratory selection central to the holiday that is sure to send your taste buds into another realm.
It wouldn’t be New Years without a party, right? And boy does Pensacola know how to party. Most places offer tickets in advance that include everything from endless champagne, live entertainment, glittery party favors and sometimes even a haughty breakfast bar at midnight! Make sure to take a look at our event list for a full list of festivities that are sure to make you feel the occasion.
Begin the Countdown in 3, 2, 1 ….
For the first time ever, the Pensacola Blue Wahoos will hold its Kazoo’s New Year’s Celebration at Blue Wahoos Stadium. The event, which is free to the public, will begin at 5 p.m. The festivities will culminate with fireworks and a Pelican drop in the outfield at 8 p.m. Local bands Rewired and The Unicorn Wranglers will provide live music on the field with a special performance by the Antioch Youth and Adult Choir.
For anyone looking for a more upscale experience, the Hancock Bank Club at Blue Wahoos Stadium will host New Years on the Bay, a private party featuring an all-you-can-eat buffet from 5:30 – 7:30 and bottomless champagne from 6:00 – 8:00. This exclusive offer has tickets on sale for $75 per person and $20 per child. For more information on Kazoo's New Year's Celebration, visit www.bluewahoos.com

End it with a Bang
Both Downtown Pensacola and Pensacola Beach celebrate the stroke of 8 p.m. with a burst of fire and smoke in the sky. Tens of thousands watch in amazement as fireworks illuminate the endless possibilities of a new year. Kiss your beloved, dance in the street or simply make a wish; it'll be one to remember.
And Begin Again with a Plunge

A polar plunge that is! On new years day plunge into the icy waters of the Gulf of Mexico at the Flora-Bama in Perdido Key or at Paradise Bar & Grill along the Santa Rosa Sound on Pensacola Beach. You’ll see everything from swimsuits to Santa hats to penguins and a few costumes too eccentric to describe. One thing for sure is that there isn’t a shortage of a good time.
