While museums are fun and all, sometimes the adults need a getaway on a rainy day. Below, find your guide to adult indoor activities.

Downtown Shopping

Pensacola is teeming with local boutiques and specialty shops. Whether you’re looking for a new outfit or trying to find that perfect antique piece for your home, we have a place for you. I hate knickknacks and always find myself struggling to find souvenirs when I visit places, that’s why I try to get functional gifts. While they may not directly say “Visit X” I don’t mind. When I look at particular items in my home or closet I usually am reminded more of experiences and who I was with when buying them. Currently in my home right now you’ll find a Chinese fan that was gifted to me while vacationing with my girlfriends in Asia. When I look at that fan I’m reminded of those sweet friends and the wonderful time that we had. Also, you’ll find a blue antique vase that I stole for $3 in Kansas City’s City Market, where I spent most of my weekends. It’s all about the experiences people, find the little things that bring you joy!

Beer and Wine Tasting

This one is definitely not for the kiddos. Pensacola offers several places for an afternoon tour or tasting including Pensacola Bay Brewery, Swan Neck Winery and Mead and Gulf Coast Brewery. On most Saturdays, Pensacola Bay and Gulf Coast offer tours for $5 with a free beer at the end. They both have a tap room onsite if you’re just looking for an afternoon pint.

Escape on Palafox

This one is fun because it doesn’t matter if it’s just you and your partner or a whole group. Escape on Palafox is a real- life adventure. Participants are locked in a room and must escape in 60 minutes or less. The most fun is that you get to pick a theme to your mission which includes a museum robbery, a secret agent mystery and even a haunted room! Individual tickets are $24 or you can book a whole room for your party.

Cooking Classes

Sogo Cooking Class

Put those hands to good use and sign up for a cooking class. SoGourmet, V. Paul’s Italian Ristorante and Jackson’s all offer various types of classes and dishes and the best part is they help you create them all! These classes pair perfectly as a date night or a girls weekend activity.
