Tucked into a hidden corner of the iconic Pensacola Historic Village, Kitty Mitchell Craft Bar and Cocktails throws back to early Pensacola's maritime and red light heritage.
A prominent business owner, Ms. Kitty Mitchell, owned a bar on the iconic Palafox St. Her doors welcomed sailors and townsmen alike--these were the days when women weren't allowed in bars, you see. Later Ms. Kitty opened a restaurant, and according to local lore, she was a huge fan of the Calico Grouper. Rumor has it she would trade services with the fisherman for this specific catch, which is how the Kitty Mitchell Grouper got its name.
Kitty Mitchell hints at this 1870s story with unique cuisine paired with feelings of a welcoming parlor and touches of the sea. Chefs Jarred Snyder, and Jason Brewer teamed up to create a creative menu for fun and sharing. Chef specials weekly, gluten-free and allergen-friendly options available.
