Taste the Best Gumbo and Send a Student to College

The Rotary Club of Gulf Breeze welcomes gumbo connoisseurs to sample the best gumbo at the 15th annual Gumbo Cook-Off on Saturday, May 2 from 11 am - 3 pm outside the Gulf Breeze Recreation Center at 800 Shoreline Drive in Gulf Breeze. Over 20 teams will be competing to be named best of best for their gumbo dishes. Gumbo lovers can purchase tickets for $10 in advance at the Gulf Breeze Recreation Center and City Hall or for $15 at the event to enjoy unlimited gumbo samples and the opportunity to vote for the crowd favorite gumbo. Advance tickets can be purchased at Gulf Breeze City Hall or the Gulf Breeze Recreation Center.

Celebrity judges will name the Best Gumbo award and the crowd will vote for the People’s Choice award. Nearly 1,200 people sampled gumbo from more than 20 teams at last year’s event. The event will be complemented with a silent auction, Big Green Egg raffle, craft beer, live music and much more!

If you have a great gumbo recipe and would like to compete, there is still time to register your team. Both private groups and restaurant teams are welcome to vie for prizes at the event.

Proceeds for the Gumbo Cook-Off fund the Rotary Club of Gulf Breeze College Scholarship program. The club has awarded over $800,000 to deserving Gulf Breeze students throughout the past two decades.

Visit or contact Lynn Erickson at 850-293-4614 to sign up your team to cook gumbo, learn more about sponsorship opportunities, or purchase tickets.
