I AND YOU

The PenArts Mission Statement says that we will use theatrical arts to help unify our community; to maintain a safe place for all to create, inspire, and gather together; to help foster local talent; and to give artists a chance to work in their chosen field instead of going away to earn a salary for their talent and passion.

In May, in alignment with our Mission Statement, we will be presenting a small but powerful two person play by Lauren Gunderson, "I AND YOU". As part of the PenArts outreach program, and even though the play can appeal to all ages, our professional production will be aimed at middle school, high school, and college students.

I AND YOU - A young man unexpectedly visits an ill, homebound fellow student to work on an English project about Walt Whitman's "Leaves of Grass". This simple project soon evolves to reveal a much deeper message about life and our need for each other. It is a story about the mystery and glory of human connectedness.
