On January 11, 2021, Pensacola Habitat will kick off their 2021 Faith Build with Sweet Unity, typically a breakfast held at the Pensacola Habitat for Humanity Office. In order to keep our staff and community members safe and healthy, we will be meeting virtually this year on Zoom. At 7:30 AM, the event will begin and include prayers from local faith leaders.
For the past five years, Pensacola Habitat for Humanity, which identifies as an ecumenical Christian organization, has had volunteers from diverse, local faith communities join in their mission of putting God’s love into action by building homes. However, the impetus for creating a single, week-long interfaith build came when a local group of interfaith leaders came to Pensacola Habitat with an idea. They were searching for a service project that would bring differing faith groups together for a common purpose and Habitat’s mission seemed a perfect match. Dave Donaldson of the Baha’i community mentions that, “No matter what we believe, providing basic human needs such as shelter is found at the core of all major religions.” Now with Faith Build in its sixth year, Pensacola Habitat invites you to continue this tradition with your faith community.
