How the Forum Works

The Extreme Precipitation Forum combines important civic issues with creative problem solving and cutting-edge visualization software to create a unique learning experience that applies to real-world questions.

• Step into the resilience planning process of a city named Rivertown. The residents of this city need to address the impact of extreme precipitation and explore potential vulnerabilities to city infrastructure, social networks, and ecosystems.

• Participants will learn and discuss the values of Rivertown residents, consider trade-offs of various strategies, and make recommendations for their city’s community resilience.

• Through interactive, virtual modeling software, participants will even visualize how their plan will affect the city and the people who live there.
