Fourth of July Festivities that Dazzle

Watch fireworks over the bay from the historic downtown of America’s First Settlement. Or travel just a few miles and watch a dazzling display after spending the day on one of the world’s whitest beaches.

Whether you like a Fourth steeped in history or soaked in sunshine, Pensacola gives you fantastic options for your Independence Day celebrations.

In Downtown Pensacola, area Sertoma organizations are hosting a traditional Fourth of July event in Seville Square.

Enjoy a day-long party in the park with family-friendly fun and activities including a free children’s area with inflatables, pony rides, a rock climbing wall, a “meet and greet” with characters, face painting and much more!

The downtown event also includes arts and crafts vendors, food and beverage vendors and live entertainment on the gazebo stage beginning at 11 a.m. and on the Bayfront Stage beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Of course, 4th of July would not be complete without a Hot Dog Eating Contest! Kids are invited to sign up early for the noon contest.

The largest fireworks display on the Gulf Coast happens over Pensacola Bay at nine p.m., synchronized with music broadcast on Cat Country 98.7.

Or spend your day at Pensacola Beach splashing in the waves and basking up the summer sun and then stay to watch the dazzling fireworks display. It’s one of the beach’s most popular events, with thousands of boats taking to the water for the 8:30 p.m. fireworks show, which takes place over the Santa Rosa Sound behind the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk.

With our beautiful beaches, downtown shopping and dining, historic forts and the National Naval Aviation Museum, there’s no better place than the Pensacola Bay Area to spend a few days to celebrate America’s history and our Independence Day.
