Night on the Tracks Block Party

309 Punk Project is throwing a Night on the Tracks Block Party in Old East Hill during Foo Foo Fest!

Night on the Tracks kicks off with a participatory DIY street parade featuring a drum line and puppet troupe. Parade kicks off at 813 E LaRua St for a half-mile walk. Attendees are invited to step out of the observer role and into the participant role by joining the parade, wearing a costume or colorful attire, making or bringing their own props, carrying a puppet, playing an instrument, and/or decorating their bike, wheelchair, wagon, or stroller. The parade sets the stage for the Night on the Tracks Block Party as a celebratory, community-oriented, immersive experience.

The Night on the Tracks Block Party will include food trucks, artisans, and info tables plus four significant features at staggered times, described below. Interspersed throughout the area will be interactive science and math games presented by Pensacola MESS Hall.

1) Streetside exhibition of art by Panhandle Slim presented by the 309 Punk Project. 5-9pm. Along Wright Street near 6th Avenue, 502 E Wright St. FREE. All ages.

2) Outdoor live music and video with Songwriter Rounds hosted by Katie Dineen, in conjunction with the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival. 6-8pm. From the Ground Up Community Garden, 501 N Hayne St. FREE (love offering accepted). All ages.

3) Open-air film event featuring screenings of short films and projected art hosted by Calliope Films with opportunities for attendees to interact with the filmmakers and artists. 7-9pm. The Rails on Wright Street event space, 502 E Wright St. FREE. All ages with parental discretion.

4) Live concert featuring Rymodee (San Francisco, singer-songwriter, punk, folk, country, https://rymodee.bandcamp.com/), Austin Lucas (Bloomington IN, singer-songwriter, alt country, folk punk, https://www.austinlucas.com/), and Billy Pettinger aka Billy the Kid (Vancouver, singer-songwriter, folk-rock, alternative, http://billythekidonline.com/). 8-11:59pm .
