Pensacola Archaeological Society Free Lecture: "Navigating Maroon Archaeology"
October 8: "Navigating Maroon Archaeology” The history of marronage in the USA is significant, but often overlooked. Lack of widespread recognition and heritage about marronage is attributed to histories downplayed or erased in historical records. What does exist across various archives require significant effort to piece together. Archaeology plays a role in highlighting these maroon stories. Lecture presented by: Bria R Brooks, Public Archaeologist with the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN).
