St. Joseph's Altar Celebration at Historic St. Joseph Church

Pensacola, FL — 𝗕𝘂𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗮 𝗟𝗼𝗱𝗴𝗲, in collaboration with the 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗮 and the 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝘁. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵, is excited to announce the annual 𝗦𝘁. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗵’𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the Historic St. Joseph Church, located at 140 Government Street in Pensacola. The event will begin with the 11:00 AM Mass, followed by a communal spaghetti meal offered for a donation of $5, and the inspiring St. Joseph’s Altar display.

This cherished Sicilian tradition honors St. Joseph, the patron saint of fathers, families, and workers, by offering food to feed the hungry in gratitude for prayers answered. St. Joseph’s intercession during a historic drought and famine in Sicily is the heart of this tradition, which continues to this day, brought to America by Italian immigrants.

The St. Joseph’s Altar will be beautifully decorated with baked goods, fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, and other offerings. Guests are invited to visit the altar, learn about its significance, and enjoy the communal meal. All are welcome to attend, regardless of religious denomination, to partake in this meaningful cultural event.

This event is championed by Buona Fortuna Lodgemember Rhonda Randazzo, and we look forward to seeing community members come together to celebrate Italian heritage, tradition, and unity.
