Pensacola, Fla. (June 15, 2018) – Visit Pensacola is excited to announce the areas newest attraction, Pensacola Bay Cruises. Set to debut on June 22, two ferries, Pelican Perch and Turtle Runner, will connect Downtown Pensacola to the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk and the Gulf Islands National Seashore. The ferry service will operate from 8:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. with each part of the trip lasting approximately 45 minutes.
“As a thriving, waterfront community with extensive maritime history, what an exciting addition for our destination,” President of Visit Pensacola Steve Hayes said. “The ferries bring a whole new adventure to the Pensacola experience and tell a story of our cities history by sea. As America’s first settlement, this just made sense.”
For travelers making plans to the area, the ferries offer a state of the art experience to enjoy the region as many residents do year-round. The ferries have the ability to accommodate 149 passengers and feature a climate-controlled enclosed main deck and a shaded upper deck for observation, an onboard snack bar for food and beverage services, restrooms, passenger storage, flat screen TVs and a sound system for onboard history and landscape narratives by both National Park Service rangers and Gulf Coast Maritime Services.
All-day, hop on, hop off ferry tickets will cost $20 for adults and will include admission to the Gulf Islands National Seashore, which usually costs between $10 and $20 itself. Children’s tickets will be $13, with discounted tickets for active duty military and seniors offered for $18.50. Children under 2 will ride free. There will be three-day discounted passes and a 10-trip frequent rider pass.
With so much more to experience beyond the beaches, Pensacola Bay Cruises encompasses the entire destination and boasts a complete destination experience. From the thriving, historic streets of Downtown Pensacola to the white sands and seclusion of the Gulf Islands National Seashore, over to the gentle waves and relaxed atmosphere of Pensacola Beach, this is something you won’t want to miss.
