press release

National Travel and Tourism Week takes place nationwide May 7-13, 2017.

Pensacola, Fla. (April 20, 2017) - National Travel & Tourism week is May 7th thru May 13th. Visit Pensacola is excited to announce that we will continue our Hospitality Hero Program to recognize and thank our front-line employees. We are asking you, owners and managers, of restaurants, accommodations, transportation, attractions, venues, and shops, to nominate YOUR Hospitality Hero of the Year!

Last year, Visit Pensacola announced the following as our 2016 Hospitality Heroes:

Restaurant/Dining – Blair Durant / Pot Roast & Pinot

Lodging – Tarnecia “Necy” Johnson / Ashton Inn & Suites

Transportation – Darius East / Beach Bum Trolley

Attractions & Venues – Dan Bizzell / Pensacola Lighthouse & Museum

Shopping – Marindy Bush / Flora-Bama

These winners set the precedent for years to come, and we are excited and looking forward to selecting another class of winners at our 2nd Annual National Travel and Tourism luncheon.

While marketing and advertising efforts from Visit Pensacola and the tourism businesses can entice a guest to visit our area once, it is the hospitality experience that your front-line staff provides that encourages visitors to come back again and again. This program is about that employee who makes the visitor experience great. It is also about those select employees who go above and beyond each and everyday, those that can turn a negative experience into a positive life long memory. We know that each and every one of your businesses has people that fill these roles and make coming to work everyday that much sweeter.

Please contact, Leslie Brosofsky (lbrosofsky@visitpensacola.com) or 850.433.5398 to nominate your Hospitality Hero today!

The deadline for nominations has been extended to Friday, April 28th.

On May 11th, we will be hosting a National Travel and Tourism Week luncheon. It is at this lunch we will recognize the Hospitality Heroes (one for each of the five categories).

We look forward to this event and the opportunity to say “thank you” to those who do such a tremendous job offering hospitality to all our visitors in the Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, and Perdido Key area.
