Pensacola, Fla. – The Visit Pensacola Board of Directors voted Wednesday to resume the Visit Pensacola event grant program for events taking place in fiscal year 2022. The grant program was paused in FY 2021 due to budget restraints and uncertainties due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Annually, Visit Pensacola allocates funds from its budget to an event grant program for groups and organizations that coordinate events or visitor experiences with a demonstrated history of visitor impact or significant potential to draw visitors to the area. The Visit Pensacola event grant program’s main purpose is to attract visitors overnight while engaging the local community with more experiences.

With the resurgence of the program, new guidelines are in place. “We took this time to really evaluate this program to make sure we were being the best stewards of the tourist development tax,” Director of Marketing and Communications Nicole Stacey said. “As a destination marketing organization, we wanted to ensure that the grant program upheld our organizations key values and initiatives and focused on marketing efforts, economic impact, and tourist development tax revenue.”

Major changes include:

  • One call for applications per fiscal year
  • Grant workshops are mandatory
  • Grant amounts will not exceed $25,000
  • The Visit Pensacola grant amount cannot exceed 50% of the applicant’s overall event expense budget
  • 75% of the Visit Pensacola grant funding is to be used on marketing, 25% may be used on operations

Visit Pensacola is now accepting grant applications for events occurring between Oct. 1, 2021 – Sept. 30, 2022.  The grant deadline is June 8 at 12 p.m. Grant workshops will be hosted at the below dates and times in the Bowden Building located at 120 Church Street.  All grant applicants are required to attend one of the workshops.
