President's Message

This past month our city saw the execution of Visit Pensacola’s largest event in history. After nearly a year of planning, I’d like to thank the Visit Pensacola staff, our board, stakeholders, and the entire Pensacola Bay Area community for the continued support throughout the Tall Ships® Pensacola Festival. Currently, it is estimated that we had 25,000 people in attendance! As we continue to collect data from the event, you can expect a full impact report within the upcoming month.

Looking forward to National Hospitality and Tourism Week 2018, we have some exciting events on the docket that I encourage all of you to check out. New to the schedule, Visit Pensacola will host a half-day leadership summit free of charge and open to anyone to attend. Local businessman Quint Studer will speak on building vibrant communities, No Luggage founder Sarah Peter will address the adventure traveler, a new age market surfacing in our research and Jeff Shusterman from Majority Opinion Research will present the 2017 numbers. Alongside the summit, we will celebrate our industry heroes at the annual Hospitality Heroes Luncheon and Award Ceremony as well as so much more. I encourage you all to attend as this is a time to lean into our community, to celebrate the industry, get to know one another better and to continue working together.  I can’t wait to see you all there.

Hospitably,

Steve Hayes, Visit Pensacola President
