Moving forward, I’d like to say thank you to everyone that attended the annual meeting, we’ve had a big year and I’m overjoyed that we were able to celebrate together. On the marketing side of things, we celebrated the launch of the new Pensacola Experience brand, the Tourism Works campaign, increased media exposure and story placements across the world, and a successful Tall Ships America marketing campaign.
As for sales and services, we’ve seen the addition of 35 new partners and have assisted with nearly 10,000 room nights in the Pensacola Bay Area and have increased lead room nights 41% over the last year. The Pensacola and Perdido Key Visitor Information Centers hosted 71 community events between the two centers, and the whole team hosted the inaugural Tall Ships Pensacola challenge of which boasted over 25,000 people to the area.
With that in mind, I’d like to say thank you to our outgoing chairman, Jason Nicholson and the following board members for their support over the last several years: Ronald Cole, Jim Homyak, and J.D. Hallam. Jason and his team were able to help us bring to life the message of tourism in the community as well as so much more. It is by their guidance that we were able to provide steady, purposeful work to the community.
Additionally, I’d like to welcome our incoming board chairman, Rob Overton and the following board of directors and officers: Doctor Lusharon Wiley, Cam Price, McKenzie Vaughn, and Joe McCay. I know our team is excited for what’s to come and from the direction of our board of directors, I feel confident that we’re in safe hands.
