The Florida Public Relations Association’s annual Image Awards are the states recognition of top-performing public relations efforts. Visit Pensacola is pleased to share that their efforts for the Tall Ships Pensacola Festival were presented a Judges Award and an Award of Distinction. This honor comes from the support of the community and we’re so overjoyed to share it with you.
Many of you have heard about the new Pensacola Local Guide program, and we’re happy to report our first month’s progress. In less than 30 days, the group garnered over 60 social media posts, 15,000 organic engagements and numerous Google reviews. The Pensacola Bay Area is getting its fare share of television time. This past month, crews from Talk of Alabama and Good Morning Dallas shot long-form segments on the Pensacola experience. These segments will allow for Birmingham and Dallas audiences to learn more about the destination and invite them to plan their fall vacations.

To promote the Pensacola Experience, Visit Pensacola is utilizing Facebook’s Trip Consideration feature with a vacation giveaway to promote Pensacola to people in the “dream” stage of vacation planning. Results are currently off the charts! The Dallas market giveaway has seen 7,782 conversions and has reached over 350,000 in the first 16 days. The drive market giveaway reached over 68,000 people and converted 2,248 people in only 24 hours.
The Commissioning of the USS Tripoli is expected to take place in Pensacola, Fla. Early summer 2020. Currently we’re estimating over 6,000 people for the event including the ship’s crewmembers, their family members, guests and dignitaries. At this time, we’re surveying lodging availability for late May to mid-June. Please send your information to Lori Coppels.
It is hard to believe that five months have already gone by since Pensacola hosted thousands of students, parents and teachers for the Florida SkillsUSA student competitions. From automotive, animation and architectural drafting, to cosmetology, cybersecurity and web design, these students challenge each other’s ability at mastering skills needed for their career of interest.
If you would like to get involved and see these students in action, consider volunteering as a competition judge or become a sponsor and showcase your company on the competition floor.
