Showcase Pensacola has been working to develop a new direct mailer promotion to the Atlanta market. In mid-August, a series of six postcards will be sent over 14 days to Visit Pensacola’s top 10 Atlanta zip codes. This will be followed up with a targeted native digital campaign re-targeting these potential prospects. The idea is to drive consumers to our site as we invite them to plan their next vacation in the Pensacola Bay Area.
Visit Pensacola in partnership with Visit Florida participated in the moments of sunshine media mission in Canada. Over three days Visit Florida and 5 Florida destinations (Pensacola, Florida’s Sports Coast, SeaWorld, Crystal River and Ocala) met with influencers, bloggers and traditional media in both Toronto and Montreal. The mission was a huge success, already resulting in multiple articles, extensive on the ground coverage from the events and a Canada FAM scheduled to arrive in Pensacola in late October.
Spreading the gospel of Florida - Read Now
In partnership with WFAA’s Good Morning Texas, Dallas’ ABC affiliate, Visit Pensacola will bring their lifestyle show to our area surrounding a Trip Giveaway. This includes segments shot locally, TV spots, digital and email elements.
Additionally, Visit Pensacola will be combining Facebook’s Trip Consideration features with a vacation giveaway to promote the destination to people in the “dream” stage of vacation planning through a month-long Facebook campaign. Campaigns will target people in the Dallas area who have shown general intent to travel. An invitation for the eNewsletter will be sent to all contest submissions.
Northwest Florida Beaches is pleased to announce the continued operation of the US 231 Florida Welcome Center, which was slated to close at the end of June 2019 as a result of the recent VISIT FLORIDA budget cuts. VISIT FLORIDA leadership looked to the regional brand to assume operation of the center, which serves as the main welcome point for nearly 300,000 visitors arriving in the destination. Maintaining operations is a collaboration of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and Northwest Florida Beaches, with support from Explore Northwest Florida, a regional brand comprised of nine counties ranging from Walton to Gadsden County. Visit Pensacola is excited to announce the Pensacola Local Guide program. The Pensacola Local Guides are a carefully selected group of individuals based in the Pensacola Bay Area that have significant social influence. Their main mission will be to showcase and bring awareness to different Pensacola experiences to both residents and visitors and to generate positive press around the hospitality and tourism community. At this time, we’re looking for partners who are willing to host these individuals. In exchange, you will receive Google and Trip Advisor reviews and social media coverage. Visit Pensacola will attend Florida Encounter, Visit Florida’s meeting planner conference Nov. 20-22, 2019 in Panama City Beach. There currently are two spaces left for tourism partners interested in this booth-share opportunity with Visit Pensacola. The fee to attend is $700 per person/per property.
Visit Pensacola is coordinating with Visit Florida on a post-Florida Encounter FAM tour in Pensacola which would take place November 23-25. This is an opportunity to showcase our area to meeting and event planners that have not had the opportunity to Experience Pensacola.
