Welcome Florida Trust for Historic Preservation Annual Conference

In May, Pensacola will welcome the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation Annual Conference. The Florida Trust has served as the state of Florida’s nonprofit historic preservation organization for more than 40 years and is a statewide partner with the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The conference is regarded as a premier historic preservation event for the state and provides opportunities to learn from industry leaders and colleagues and be inspired by real-life preservation projects. Attendees will be hosted in downtown Pensacola for a walkable conference experience and to explore University of West Florida Historic Trust’s preservation projects in Historic Pensacola. Approximately 250-300 attendees are expected for the conference which will be held on May 15-18, 2019.

SkillsUSA 2019

Pensacola welcomed more than 3,500 students for the SkillsUSA Florida State Championships April 7-10. Keeping to the association’s by-laws of changing destinations every three years, next year will end the event’s three-year period in Pensacola and the competition moves to Jacksonville. Hosting SkillsUSA generates approximately two-million dollars in revenue for our community. We hope to have the opportunity to bring the competition back to Pensacola, in 2024.
