Pensacola Bay Area Events Update

The Pensacola Bay Area is slowly but surely starting to host events and activities of different sizes. With health and safety in mind, here are updates on larger events and activities that are scheduled for the first quarter of 2021.

Pensacola Double Bridge Run Set for Feb. 6

The Pensacola Double Bridge Run is set to run a new route on Feb. 6. Starting on Pensacola Beach, the race will span the Bob Sikes Bridge twice and loop back towards the Gulf Islands National Seashore. For registration and route details, click here.

Sun Belt Conference Championships: March 5-8

Marking the beginning of NCAA March Madness, the Sun Belt Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship are set for March 5-8, 2021. All 12 conference members will compete in single-elimination games, and the women’s and men’s champions will be crowned on Monday. Ticket packages include a ticket to each session selected and range in price from $30 to $75 (for children) to $100 to $250 (for adults.)

Pensacon Postponed, Rescheduled for May 21-23

In an abundance of caution, Pensacon has postponed its events to ensure the health and safety of its patrons. The event managers announced the new dates will be May 21-23.

Pensacola Mardi Gras Postponed; Rescheduled, May 21 & 29

The 2021 downtown Pensacola Grand Mardi Gras Parade has been postponed until May. In its place, a one-time Carnavale Celebration will include a Carnavale Kick-Off Celebration on May 21, a Grand Carnavale Parade on May 29 and will roll into the Grand Fiesta Parade on June 4. 

The May 21 parade is essentially the Mardi Gras replacement parade. In addition to these events, Zimmern said there will be "a few other unique and exciting experiences inspired by local krewes."

Blue Angels Airshows Looking Ahead

The Pensacola Beach Airshow is scheduled for July 10, 2021, and the Blue Angels Homecoming Airshow is slated for Nov. 5-6, 2021. You can view the complete schedule here. Practice schedule dates have not been announced. Tune in to for updates.
