Admiral Mason Park

Details

Admiral Mason Park is located in the Hawkshaw Lagoon area along Pensacola Bay, at the intersection of 9th Avenue and Bayfront Parkway sit two adjacent parks with a rich history to explore. Admiral Mason Park dates back to the 1950’s when it was the site of a baseball stadium named in honor of Charles P. Mason, a Vice Admiral in the United States Navy and two-time Mayor of Pensacola. The baseball stadium was demolished in 1974 but the City of Pensacola brought the western-most portion of the park back to life in 2013 with a stormwater pond that serves as a natural wetland habitat. Visitors can also enjoy a walking/jogging path and benches to sit and enjoy the beautiful landscaping and views of Pensacola Bay. The park is a place for solemn reflection and honors veteran’s from nearly every conflict in which the United States of America has fought since the start of the 20th century. The Veterans Memorial Park Foundation has operated and maintained the park under license agreement with the City of Pensacola since 1992 and relies completely on donation and grants to fulfill their mission.
