Pensacola Sports
Originally incorporated in 1955, the Pensacola Sports Association (PSA) is a private not-for-profit agency and one of the oldest sports commissions in the country. After many years of successfully managing the Pensacola Open (a PGA tournament), PSA expanded to offer free clinics in golf, tennis, baseball and softball, as well as assisting with local swim meets, track meets, and golf tournaments. (Our Racquet Roundup Tennis Clinic has been hailed as the "largest free tennis clinic in the country," by the USTA). Signature events produced by PSA include the Double Bridge Run 15K, Senior Scholar-Athlete Awards Banquet, the High School All-Star Games (football, volleyball, soccer, baseball and softball), and PSA Annual Awards Banquet, the only event to honor all local athletes who have excelled with state or national championships. The efforts to erect the "City of Champions" Wall of Fame at the Pensacola Regional Airport, where visitors are greeted by local superstars (Emmitt Smith, Roy Jones Jr., Don Sutton, Jerry Pate and Derrick Brooks) were spearheaded by PSA. The Pensacola Sports Association thanks Escambia County Board of County Commissioners for their support.
