Hey Chicago, What Do You Say? You Can Travel to the Pensacola Bay Area with Ease This Spring!
Pensacola International Airport boasts new record and receives increase in frequency for flight schedule to Chicago
Pensacola, Fla. (November 27, 2017 – Hey Chicago, we know you have the best pizza, but we bet you don’t fish seafood out of that river quite like ours. We dare you to come and try it for yourselves.
Travelers from across the country can now visit the Pensacola Bay Area with added ease this Spring thanks to Visit Pensacola and the Pensacola International Airport.
Following the announcement of a record-breaking year, the airport disclosed several non-stop, seasonal and daily service flights. Beginning March 8, United Airlines will resume daily service to O’Hare International Airport. Additionally, Frontier Airlines will begin non-stop, low-cost flights May 12 as part of its nationwide expansion. Southwest Airlines will provide Saturday nonstop service to Chicago Midway beginning March 10, with increased flights in June.
“These announcements come as a direct result of our area's success,” President of Visit Pensacola Steve Hayes said. “These flights will bring new opportunities to potential visitors and we couldn’t be more excited.”
The Pensacola Bay Area boasts a vast dining scene with a gamut of food fares to experience. The most notable cuisines include fresh seafood deeply rooted in southern comfort with an added creole flair. Once you appease your taste buds, you can then experience all that the area has to offer.
Travelers to the area can expect beautiful weather and award-winning events throughout the year. The Spring and Summer months boast warm temperatures and endless sunshine perfect for camping along the sugar white sands of the Gulf Islands National Seashore, fishing, biking, and water activities such as stand up paddle boarding and snorkeling.
Pensacola is known for their festivals and these flights come at a perfect time to enjoy. The annual Interstate Mullet Toss will take place at the Flora-Bama April 27-29. Participants will pitch a dead mullet over the Florida – Alabama state line to see who gets the farthest at one of the largest parties on the Gulf Coast. If that doesn’t get your taste buds jumping, the following weekend some of the most delectable seafood fares will be at the Pensacola Crawfish Festival May 4-6. There is always something to do in the Pensacola Bay Area and now travelers can easily visit the area and enjoy.
