Southwest and American Airlines Offering New Flights from Pensacola
New weekend service to Denver and daily service to Kansas City coming this summer from Pensacola International Airport
Pensacola, Fla. (Jan. 10, 2017) – Visit Pensacola is pleased to share that the American Airline non-stop to Washington, D.C. is back year-round and Southwest Airlines will begin offering non-stop weekend service to Denver, Colorado, and non-stop daily service to Kansas City, Kansas, starting this summer from Pensacola International Airport.
“This announcement shows the continued confidence that these airlines have in the Pensacola Bay Area,” said Steve Hayes, president of Visit Pensacola. “We are a growing market and the addition of these non-stop flights will enable us to reach visitors that we are beginning to see in our top markets per our research.”
- Non-stop service to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) will run daily year-round starting April 4 on American Airlines.
- Non-stop service to Denver International Airport (DEN) will run on the weekends from June 10-August 13 on Southwest Airlines.
- Non-stop service to Kansas City International Airport (MCI) will run daily from June 4 – August 14 on Southwest Airlines.
- Non-stop service to Dallas Love Field (DAL) will run twice daily on Saturdays and once on Sunday from June 10 – August 13 on Southwest Airlines.
The return of non-stop service to D.C. on American Airlines, and Kansas City, Denver, and Dallas, Texas on Southwest Airlines, will increase awareness of the Pensacola Bay Area and provide added incentive for travel. Visitors can begin booking their flights and planning their vacations starting today.
In addition to successful daily non-stop flights to Nashville, Tennessee, and Houston, Texas, as well as Saturday service to Chicago, Illinois — these new and returning flights, are proof that Pensacola’s tourism market is continuing to flourish.
Research shows that visitation to the Pensacola Bay Area is steadily increasing and Visit Pensacola and the community at-large are excited to share all the area has to offer. Spring and summer campaigns targeted to these markets will showcase that Pensacola has beautiful beaches and so much more, enticing viewers to book their vacations now.
