Experience the Magic of Sailing Pensacola Bay

While the Pensacola Bay Area's history as a noted seaport began with Spanish boats arriving in 1559, it continues today with the countless international sailors who compete on its waters. As a host of multiple National regattas, sailboats of various classes have taken advantage of Pensacola Bay's unobstructed, wide-open waters, minimal commercial traffic, and water currents. In 2018 The Pensacola Yacht Club hosted the Optimist National Championship, featuring 301 youth from 12 countries and in 2020 we'll host the U.S. Sailing Youth National Championship

Our location on the Intracoastal Waterway, also makes us an ideal harbor for cruisers working their way around America's Great Loop.

Pensacola Bay certainly provides sailors with a unique venue – from entry-level youth boats to high-performance small boats and larger racing classes – but that's just the beginning. You may come to sail, but you'll stay for the unspoiled sugar-white beaches, arts, history and Southern hospitality.

For more information about hosting sailing events on Pensacola Bay, contact Lori Coppels at Visit Pensacola or Tom Pace, Rear Commodore at Pensacola Yacht Club.

American Magic

In 2019, while training for the prestigious America's Cup, the New York Yacht Club American Magic made the Pensacola Bay their winter training home.
