Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can kids get in free for GA or Fast Pass?
    1. Yes, Kids 5 and under are free but must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket or fast pass.
  2. How many tickets can I get with my Military ID?
    1. One military ticket per military ID. ID’s will be checked at the admissions gate.
  3. Can I exchange my ticket for a different day?
    1. For GA and Fast Pass Tickets, as long as the ticket has not been used. Go to the main north entrance at the Festival and see an Exceptions Attendant to issue the new “day of” tickets. This does NOT apply to special events, Sail Away Tours or VIP party.
  4. How long do I wait in line for an onboard tour?
    1. Depending on the time of day you arrive at the festival, lines can be several minutes, up to several hours wait time. If you want to tour all four ships, plan on arriving early, or getting a multiple day pass, or a fast pass.
    2. Fast pass tickets are available for purchase and allow you to get in the Fast Pass line which has a much shorter wait time.
  5. What is there to do while I wait?
    1. The festival will have a variety of entertainment happening throughout; Live music, media interviews, crowd entertainers, and an activity area for children.
  6. Can I bring my pet?
    1. No pets are allowed inside the festival grounds.
  7. Is this a family-friendly event?
    1. Yes! The ship tours are open to kids and adults. A separate kids area is open with activities from 11am-5pm on Friday and Saturday, and 11am-4pm on Sunday. See the event schedule for details.
  8. How can I see the Parade of Sails?
    1. There are two ways to view the Parade of Sails; by land and by sea. If you are viewing by land, please see the map of viewing areas (coming soon). If you have a boat and you would like to participate in the Parade of Sails, register online and view details from the link on the Tall Ships Home Page.  
    2. By Land: viewing areas include, Fort Pickens, Maritime Park, Sanders Beach, “Friends of Ship” ticket holders have reserved viewing on the festival grounds.
  9. Can I change my sail away tickets?
    1. Tickets are non-refundable, however, we understand issues can come up. We will try and accommodate schedule changes when available. No schedule changes will be issued after April 1st. If the weather is an issue the captains may, at their discretion, change the Sail Away tour time. If this happens then we will contact you with updates.
  10. Is the festival ADA friendly?
    1. The festival is ADA compliant. If you have special needs, please contact us for group tour access. There are no wheelchairs allowed on the ships, but Captain’s and Crew will give tour info from the dock.
  11. Are cameras and video recorders allowed? Yes

  12. Will there be bag storage?
    There is absolutely no bag storage at any location. Please pay close attention to the Prohibited Items list as there are no exceptions. Patrons must comply or they will not be granted access to the viewing areas. There will not be a discard area for those items not allowed. Security will not hold any prohibited items. Items must be discarded or returned to vehicle.

  13. Are you allowed to re-enter after going through a security checkpoint?
    Patrons are allowed to leave the secured area, however, must repeat the screening process each time they re-enter.

  14. What if it rains?

    The event is rain or shine. Please prepare for the weather by bringing sunscreen, rain jackets and/or umbrellas. There will be a lot of walking involved, so comfortable, flat shoes are recommended.

    Umbrellas will be permitted on the festival grounds if inclement weather is expected. However, due to limited space and safety concerns, they will not be allowed on the ships. We recommend ponchos or raincoats for boarding.

  15. Please see the list of prohibited items to ensure you are allowed access with your belongings. There will not be a storage area for those items not allowed.  

Prohibited Items

Tall Ships® Pensacola has been designated as a Marine Event of National Significance by the United States Department of Homeland Security. This designation requires certain security measures to be in place for the public’s safety.

All personal belongings, bags, and purses will be checked. Large backpacks are not permitted. Firearms, weapons of any kind, explosives, or incendiary devices are not permitted. Selfie sticks are not permitted. Open or unsealed bottles or containers of any kind of water or other liquids and food are not permitted. No outside food or drinks are allowed inside festival grounds. Baby food and formula must be stored in plastic containers. Glass is not permitted. No coolers are allowed inside festival grounds.
