Tacos reign supreme across Pensacola’s culinary map
There’s no reason to wait until Cinco de Mayo — or even Taco Tuesday — to throw down some tasty tacos while you’re visiting Pensacola.
Ahhhhhh... a coastal breeze, a crisp 75 degrees, and what’s that? The smell of grills in the background? In my honest opinion, fall is THE time to visit Pensacola. The kids have gone back to school, the weather is delightful, and there’s an tons of festivals and events going on. Some of my favorites are the food festivals of course. It's a foodie's paradise, come and see for yourself!
Consider Pensacola Seafood Festival the unofficial kickoff to foodie season in Pensacola. Bartram Park, Seville Square, and Fountain Park all become the headquarters for Seafood Fest! Some of my favorite stops would definitely be snagging some Grits A Ya Ya at the Fish House booth and then maybe some shrimp from the Salty Pearl Raw Bar booth. I can taste the flavors now!
Not to mention, there's tons of art to explore from the vendors onsite. You can grab some handmade jewelry, ceramics, photos... you name it, it's probably at Seafood Festival! It's the perfect way to walk off all that food you ate and get some shopping in. Add in some live music and a breeze underneath the shady trees and it's a perfect Pensacola day at the Seafood Festival.
Casino Beach is the place to be when it's time for Taste of the Beach! Stop by and try some signature creations from top chefs of Pensacola. Think crab claws, mahi sliders, frozen cocktails... you get the vibes. The festival showcases local stops like Red Fish Blue Fish, The Grand Marlin, CRABS, and more.
There are also cooking challenges that take place where chefs go head to head, it's quite the entertainment! Oh and speaking of entertainment - there's live music to enjoy as well, it's a whole experience! The festival is located right at the Gulfside Pavilion on Casino Beach, which is a real treat with the beautiful views of the Gulf!
Buongiorno! Festa Italiana is a must visit festival that transforms Fountain Park into a celebration of family, food, and Italy! Some of our favorites include the pizza, lasagna, shrimp scampi, the list goes on. Pro tip: grab an italian soda to pair with your dish... you won't regret it.
Another unique thing about this festival is the traditional Italian dances! Feel free to watch or try a dance yourself, we won't judge! The proceeds of Festa Italiana support Buona Fortuna's charitable donations and scholarships, so you know every bite is worth it!
The Pensacola Greek Festival has been going on since 1959 and is a long standing tradition. You'll find delicious Mediterranean flavors straight from Greece, spanakopita, slow-roasted lamb, baklava, and more. You'll want to try EVERYTHING...twice.
Once you've snagged your plate, feel free to sit and enjoy the atmosphere! There is live music and traditional dancing taking place, you'll quickly find yourself coming back year after year.
Big Green Eggs, food enthusiasts, brisket, smoky barbecue... yep, it's the Pensacola Eggfest! Taking place annually in November, this event hosts BBQ teams and backyard cooks from all over the US. Snag a ticket and go or join as a cook team.
What makes it even better? It’s for a good cause! Eggfest has donated over $940,000 to community charities, meaning every taste comes with a purpose. Come hungry, leave fulfilled, and maybe a tad smoky in the best way possible.
Bring your appetite, bring your people, and let the good bites roll. This is fall in Pensacola!
