Pensacola Is A Playground For Every Sports Fan

No matter what your sport, and whether you want to participate or just take in a game, you’ll find it in Pensacola.

University of West Florida Argos

The Blue Wahoos—a Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds—play their home games at a 5,000-plus-seat multi-use waterfront stadium that overlooks Pensacola Bay and the downtown harbor. Visitors can reserve traditional stadium seats or enjoy games from covered and open-air party decks. Fans can also plop down beach blankets in lush grass behind outfield fences.

Sporting fun doesn’t stop in the fall. The Argos, the University of West Florida’s football team, take over Pensacola Bayfront Stadium in September. And just down the road, the Pensacola Ice Flyers—three-time champions of the Southeast Professional Hockey League—take to the ice to play for a raucous, family-friendly crowd at the Pensacola Bay Center.

Josh Sitton Pro Camp

Hosting soccer and baseball events year-round, the Pensacola area boasts two sprawling sports complexes that total more than 300 acres. More than 3,000 children participate in athletics at the complexes, which have become a destination for families who can enjoy a coastal vacation with their children.

Ashton Brosnaham Athletic Park holds soccer and softball tournaments for athletes of all ages. The 117-acre facility has 10 soccer fields and four softball fields. It has hosted the Gulf South Conference NCAA Division II soccer tournaments and the NCAA Division II National Championship.

Pink Ribbon Tennis at Roger Scott

The Southwest Escambia Sports Complex is located just a few miles from the pristine beaches of Perdido Key. While the 17-field, 217-acre athletic complex holds youth soccer, baseball, and football, it also includes nature trails, a playground, and numerous pavilions for fans and visitors alike.

Take part in Pensacola’s annual Double Bridge Run in February or the Pensacola Marathon in November. Tee off at one of the area's picturesque, PGA-rated golf courses. Experience a blizzard at Five Flags Speedway, where a mob of professional racecar drivers—some from NASCAR—compete every December on the famous Pensacola racetrack. Pensacola has a full calendar of sporting events to keep your heart pumping year-round.
