It’s summer – that means tan lines, water sports and most importantly ice cream. Nothing quite says summer like going to the local ice cream shop with your friends and family to escape the heat.

Here are some of Pensacola’s iconic ice cream shops that are sure to leave a mark on your trip to the Pensacola Bay area.

Wild Honey Frozen Yogurt

This adorable shop is perfect for a date night, a day with the girls or a little family fun. They feature different flavors of self-serve frozen yogurt and toppings. You’ll never get bored of the flavors because they like to keep them on a seasonal rotation. For a delicious cherry on top, East Hill Honey, a local honey distributor can be added as one of your toppings. They love receiving creative photos from your visit and posting them on their Instagram account. Wild Honey is located on Davis Hwy in front of University Mall.

Smoothie & Ice Cream World

On the beach?  Is that ice-cold drink just not holding up in the heat? Time for you to try Smoothie & Ice Cream World. This shop will fill your craving for smoothies, ice cream, deluxe sundaes and most importantly, cool you off. If you are looking for a healthier alternative to ice cream, most of their smoothies are made of only fruit. This place is perfect for beach goers because it is just a short walk away.

Bubba’s Sweet Spot

Looking for an experience a little more like Willy Wonka? Stop by Bubba’s Sweet Spot; the store is sure to fill your sweet tooth by just looking at it. Local professional golfer Bubba Watson owns the store and the décor reigns true to the downtown flavor. This shop is covered from ceiling to floor with handmade candy! This shop allows its guests the unique experience to see how some of their favorite treats are made from chocolate covered treats to ice cream and even saltwater taffy!

Dolce & Gelato

Around the corner located off Seville Square, Dolce & Gelato doubles as a restaurant and coffee bar. Their menu includes five sizes of handmade gelato made fresh every day by their very own Marie Antoinette of East Hill, Brenda Mader. I would suggest the affogato, a scoop of vanilla gelato topped with a shot of piping hot espresso, YUM!
