Coffee Shops in Downtown Pensacola

Downtown Pensacola is a wonderful place to walk and take in the surroundings. I love walking through parks such as Plaza Ferdinand and seeing historic cannons or strolling under the canopy of live oaks in Seville Park in the historic village. I can't think of a better location for a coffee shop, and we do have some great coffee shops in downtown Pensacola. Some days I like to grab a coffee and read a book in a coffee shop; other days, I enjoy getting a cup of coffee and strolling through town.

Bodacious Café

This inviting coffee shop on the bustling corner of Palafox Street and Main Street offers an extensive selection of coffee beverages, including specialty drinks like the Angelino and Honey Latte, and classic favorites like espresso, drip coffee, and cold brew. If you would like some food to go with that coffee Bodacious has a good menu with a range of options ot satisfy that craving.

The cozy and welcoming atmosphere of the cafe makes it an ideal spot for catching up with friends or settling down to work with a hot cup of coffee. You can also visit Bodacious Bookstore & Cafe for a good book and great coffee.

Maker’s Cafe and Espresso Bar

Maker's Cafe & Espresso Bar has an extensive selection of espresso drinks, pour-over coffee, and cold brews. The cafe's trendy and inviting atmosphere provides the perfect backdrop for catching up with friends or enjoying a moment of solitude. Alla Prima Coffee Roaster

Alla Prima Coffee Roaster was founded by Pensacola native and artist Summer Sevi, whose love for both painting and coffee inspired her entrepreneurial journey. A former elementary art teacher, Summer painted at night in the Italian style of Alla Prima, or “at first attempt,” which required long hours and plenty of caffeine. With prior experience running a coffee shop outside of Washington, D.C., she returned to the Gulf Coast and, unsatisfied with local options, began roasting her own beans. Through a cycle of roasting, drinking, and painting, her skills flourished. Today, Alla Prima is more than a specialty coffee shop and micro roastery—it’s a cool, welcoming space with comfortable seating, perfect for reading a book, meeting a friend, or savoring fresh coffee alongside Summer’s artwork.

East Hill Coffee Scene

East Hill and East Pensacola Heights are the oldest neighborhoods in the city. These neighborhoods were the location of Don Tristan de Luna's settlement in 1559. I wonder if Don Tristan de Luna sat on the bluffs overlooking Pensacola Bay while sipping his favorite beverage?

I doubt he had coffee in his possession then, but I promise you a trip to a local coffee shop and sitting along the bluffs is a wonderfully peaceful experience.

East Hill is only 10 minutes from downtown Pensacola. Its charming local vibe, locally owned shops, and fantastic city parks frame an excellent setting for some good coffee shops.

Lamonte Gelato in the Old Sacred Heart Building

Yes, Lamante Gelato is known as a fantastic gelato shop. However, you are missing out if you still need to check out their coffee offering. The cafe's baristas use locally roasted Coffee from Alla Prima Roastery to create each shot of espresso, resulting in a robust and flavorful experience. Lamante Gelato's cozy and inviting atmosphere makes it the perfect place to sit and enjoy a sweet treat or a refreshing coffee.

Jitterbug Beverage Co

Jitterbug coffee shop is not your run-of-the-mill java junkies; more like two burnt-out creatives who hate burnt coffee. If you want a delicious cup of coffee and a cool place to hang out, I recommend Jitterbug. The space has an eclectic selection of chairs and couches to chill and take in the surroundings. A local record shop, Revolver Records, also shares the room so you can sip and browse your favorite tunes. If you need a recommendation, pair their signature cold brew and locally roasted espresso drinks with an oddly satisfying square of hot honey butter cornbread. Ok, take me there!

Maximilian Coffee

Maximilian Coffee is located in East Hill, serving Amavida Coffee. The shop claims their Cuban Cafe con Leche is unrivaled. Other drinks include the Mexican Mocha Latte, or the El Diablo will be your go-to coffee for those who like a kick behind their coffee. The chic and inviting atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to catch up with friends or do some work.

Uptown Coffee Selections

Uptown Pensacola is home to the Pensacola International Airport, shopping malls, Pensacola State College, Pensacola Christian College, and good coffee shops.

George Bistro + Bar

George Bistro is known for fantastic dining, but a little-known secret is their delicious coffee creations. Next time you are in Uptown Pensacola, stop by and grab one of your favorite coffee drinks to sit at the bar or take on the road.

The primary location on Brent Lane near Pensacola Christian College has plenty of seating to read a book, study or hang with friends. Enjoy unique signature drinks such as the Shakespeare, Milton, Poe and many more. I'll recommend an iced Poe, which includes Espresso, steamed milk, dark chocolate and raspberry.

The Coffee Guy

The Coffee Guy coffee shop is off Davis Highway near the I-10 exit. Among their specialties is the Mocha Cola, a refreshing blend of Espresso and cola that's sweet and bubbly. Whether you're in the mood for something classic or adventurous, The Coffee Guy has something for everyone.

West Pensacola Coffee Shops

West Pensacola is home to the National Naval Aviation Museum, Pensacola Lighthouse, and Big Lagoon State Park. If you want a treat, grab some coffee at Drowsy Poet and head to the observation tower at Big Lagoon State Park and enjoy breathtaking views all while sipping your favorite coffee beverage.

North Pensacola is home to the University of West Florida, Escambia River and the upper Escambia Bay. I've spent a lot of time biking, kayaking and hiking at the UWF campus- I highly recommend it. Nearby the campus I recommend checking out Bon Beans Coffee & Tea.
