Salute to Our Armed Forces - Friday, February 6, 2026

Pensacola, FL – The Krewe of Avant Garde invites the community to the Annual Masked Mardi Gras Ball at 6 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Pensacola Yacht Club to show support for our military and enjoy dancing with live band music by the Platinum Premier Band, dinner, mask contest, court program, and cash bar provided. Special salute to all our armed services. Tickets are $75/person. Reservations are required for this formal, black-tie optional event.
The Krewe of Avant Garde was established in 1983 with the purpose of providing a visible military presence and support during the Mardi Gras festivities. The Krewe participates in parades as a way to honor and support our troops as the Krewe flies our country’s flag and the flags of each branch of our military services. The float can be seen in the forefront of the Pensacola Mardi Gras parade, Veteran’s Day Parade, and Christmas Parade. Although the Krewe was formed to show support for our armed services, you do not need to have served or be affiliated with the military to join. Throughout the year, the Krewe hosts other events as part of the perks of joining the organization which can be viewed on their Facebook page - Krewe of Avant Garde - Pensacola. Potential members may message the Krewe via their Facebook site to request membership information and join.
The Mardi Gras Ball Chair, Dean Kirschner, comments, “Our Mardi Gras Ball is open to anyone who wants to learn more about our Krewe. Although we honor our military, you do not need to be affiliated with the military to participate in our events. We are a social organization with no agenda other than to have fun during Mardi Gras.” The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a social hour followed by dinner, court presentation, mask contest, and dancing. Event is free to Avant Garde members, and there is a $75/person ticket cost for guests and anyone wishing to attend, and reservations are required.
