UWF Gulf Coast Culture presents Valentine's Noir: The Thin Man
Looking for a Valentine’s Day weekend outing that’s a little less rom-com and a little more noir? Step into the stylish world of classic Hollywood with The Thin Man, a sparkling 1934 pre-Code film that blends romance, wit, and a classic whodunit into one unforgettable cinematic experience on Sunday, February 15, at 2:30 p.m. at the Pensacola Little Theatre.
Starring William Powell and Myrna Loy as the iconic Nick and Nora Charles, The Thin Man follows a retired private detective and his wealthy, quick-witted wife as they find themselves drawn into a clever, fast-paced whodunit filled with eccentric suspects, sharp dialogue, and irresistible chemistry. Their wire-haired fox terrier, Asta, nearly steals the show.
This screening on February 15 is a perfect day-after–Valentine’s celebration for couples, friends, and classic film lovers alike. Hosted at the historic Pensacola Little Theatre, guests can enjoy the film in true retro style with movie popcorn, sodas, water, and traditional theater candy—bringing back the charm of a bygone moviegoing era.
Part of the UWF Gulf Coast Culture Pensacola Noir Series, Valentine’s Noir: The Thin Man offers a delightfully unconventional romantic outing—equal parts flirtation, laughter, and classic whodunit intrigue.
Come for the crime. Stay for the banter. Celebrate Valentine’s weekend in classic theater style.
This event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the UWF College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities and the John C. Pace Symposium Series.
