Earlier this month, the National Park Service signed a 10-year agreement with HMS Ferries Inc. to operate Pensacola Bay Cruises. The two boats, named Turtle Runner and Pelican Perch by local school children, has the capacity to hold 150 passengers, with each leg of the trip taking approximately 35-45 minutes. This is a unique way to enjoy the waterways of Pensacola and get to where you’re going. Service is scheduled to begin mid-April. Here's everything else we know.

Pensacola Bay Cruises has three docking locations – 1.  Downtown Pensacola is located directly north of the North Basin on Commendencia Slip, 2. The Pensacola Beach site is located at the Pensacola Beach boardwalk at the intersections of Fort Pickens Road and Via De Luna Drive, 3. The Gulf Islands National Seashore site is located just north of Fort Pickens at the western end of Fort Pickens Road inside Gulf Islands National Seashore.

Tickets will be available for purchase online and additionally at all three docking stations. Additionally, passenger queuing, restrooms, and gateway information will be available at three locations. Tour boat tickets will offer “hop-on, hop-off” privileges, allowing passengers to travel in either direction between the service's three endpoints during the day.

What can I bring?

The tour boats were designed with passenger storage space and bike racks. Storage space on the boats is fixed, so the operator may have to more specifically define the size and quantity of items brought on board by passengers.
