Generation Z, Crisis Management and Galilean Marketing: What You Need to Know

This past month, the Visit Pensacola team attended the Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism and brought back valuable insights that you can read on the new corporate blog, here. The corporate blog is meant to be a place to engage with our team on industry updates and education. The blog is also open to industry stakeholders as a place to submit educational information. For those interested in submitting to the blog, please email us.

Flagler AwardThe team was awarded a Visit Florida Flagler Award in the special events category for showcasing the Pensacola Experience in Nashville. Last October, Visit Pensacola partnered with the Nashville Predators for an in-market activation that included a game sponsorship with activation, a media reception in the Country Music Hall of Fame and more. Congratulations to all of the recipients of the Visit Florida Flagler Awards!

Social Influencers: Who They Are and Why You Should Have Them

Social influencers are taking the media world by storm, but why? Unlike traditional media like TV, radio and print, social influencers are real people experiencing real things. They are present on newer platforms, such as Instagram and Twitter, and offer an authentic look into their lives. These connections play on consumers emotions and draw them in. Crazy thing is that they’re regular people just like you and I, but they have tens of thousands and even millions of followers. So yes, they definitely need to be paid attention to.

This past month, Visit Pensacola hosted two Canadian based influencers – Dine and Fash, and Sincerely KN. The two bloggers came to Pensacola to experience and share a girl’s getaway. The two-day venture focused on delicious Gulf Coast cuisines, Instagrammable places, natural beauty and more.

Most of you will remember Sip. Dine. Design from last month, well the coverage just keeps rolling in. You can see her official Pensacola Travel Guide and more here.

New on

Group TravelThe team has been tackling a lot on the web the past couple of months refreshing pages and adding new functionality. One area we wanted to showcase was the many unique neighborhoods in the Pensacola Bay Area. Now on the top right side of the website, we have a new drop-down called Neighborhoods. From there you can explore the neighborhoods and connect with the partners in those regions. In addition, the Group Travel page was reworked which you can explore here.

Also, there is a new website option available to partners. This new feature will allow you to add a Book Now button and a rate to your website listing. The price and the button will show up on both the listing page and the listing detail page. To keep the data current, the price will expire after 30 days.

As a Visit Pensacola partner If you would like to use this feature, login to your Partner Extranet and add your link and rate.

Want to learn how to add this feature, watch the short video below. As always, make sure to log in to the Extranet to post events and special offers. That’s a couple of ways you can increase traffic to your website. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us.

Visit Pensacola at the University of West Florida

Digital Marketing Manager Shawn Brown recently had the opportunity to share with the digital marketing class at the University of West Florida. During his presentation, he spoke about search engine marketing, which used real-world examples to focus on search engine optimization, local search and paid search advertising.

Each semester Dr. Sherry Hartnett invites community experts to give a presentation to her digital marketing class. “It’s a great opportunity for these students to be exposed real-world examples ranging from search engine marketing, social media marketing, digital marketing and more,” Brown said. “These students are getting an amazing head start to be prepared for future jobs in marketing and communications.”

Showcase Pensacola: The Old, The New and the Advanced

This Fall, The Pensacola Experience brand campaign will continue to connect with potential and past Pensacola visitors by showcasing the unique experiences the area has to offer. We will continue to work with existing digital partners as well as add new partners such as Trip Advisors and Travel Spike.

The Advanced TV campaign ended this month with great results, reaching over 2.6 million impressions at an 89.67% video completion rate. Website traffic has increased from target markets reached with the campaign.

The production of the Adventure spot has been completed and will run as pre-roll on digital platforms.

This November, in conjunction with the CMA’s, we plan to run a TV Promotion in Nashville with a trip giveaway for a couple to spend the weekend experiencing Pensacola. This will include digital media, social media, Eblast, TV placement and interviews reaching the Nashville market.
