Pensacola, Fla. (June 25, 2021) – “Serving on the Visit Pensacola board of directors is both a rewarding personal and professional experience. Board members are given the unique opportunity to directly impact the hospitality and tourism industry in Escambia County,” President and CEO Darien Schaefer said. “We’re looking for individuals that are looking to jump in, work hard, and focus on building tourism as an economic engine as well as making the Pensacola Bay Area the best place to live, visit, work, and play.”

Governed by an 11-member board of directors, the group is comprised of the following members: four seats for visitor experiences, four seats for lodging by geography, and three at-large seats. The board meets monthly to discuss items related to tourism and efforts made to continue yearly growth of this economic engine.

There are seven open positions for fiscal year 2022 that include three at-large positions, dining/entertainment, arts/culture/history, lodging/downtown/airport and lodging/Perdido Key.

Some duties include:

  • Attends meetings on a regular basis - meeting held at least once a month.
  • Helps create and implement the vision for Visit Pensacola.
  • Refines the mission and objectives of Visit Pensacola and establishes and promotes its governing principles.
  • Represents the corporation’s interests and serves as an advocate for tourism.

If you would like to be a part of the success of tourism and Visit Pensacola, please fill out an application.

Applications will be used by the nominating committee to identify and evaluate potential board candidates. Completing this form will also help you understand the skills, time, and resource commitments of this leadership position.

As an industry-driven organization, our greatest strength is the input and guidance from our community partners and stakeholders. Visit Pensacola committees include:

  • Finance Committee
