Visit Pensacola Set to Celebrate the Future of Travel during National Travel & Tourism Week May 1-7; Community Encouraged to Register for Re-Visit Pensacola Summit and Tourism Gives Back Clean-up at Jones Creek

Pensacola, Fla. – Visit Pensacola is gearing up to celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week, the annual celebration of the contributions of the U.S. travel industry. This year’s celebration will spotlight the Future of Travel.

Visit Pensacola would like to encourage members of the community to register for the Re-Visit Pensacola Summit. President and CEO Darien Schaefer will provide an update on the organization’s strategic plan and the future of travel in Escambia County. Schaefer will facilitate a panel with community leaders that include the Pensacola International Airport, CareerSource EscaRosa, Innisfree Hotels, and the Downtown Improvement Board. Additionally, Industry representatives from Visit Florida and Downs and St. Germain Research will be present to provide insight into the Future of Travel.

Other events the public are encouraged to attend and register for include the Tourism Gives Back Clean-Up at Jones Creek and the Visitor Information Center Open Houses.

When: Tuesday, May 3, 9-11 a.m.

What: Re-Visit Pensacola Summit
Where: Holiday Inn Resort Pensacola Beach
Register by May 2

When: Wednesday, May 4, 12-1 p.m.

What: Hospitality Hero Award Ceremony and Luncheon
Where: Bayview Community Center
Register by May 2

When: Thursday, May 5, 9-11 a.m.

What: Tourism Gives Back Clean-Up at Jones Creek
Where: 700 S. Old Corry Field Road
Register by May 3

When: Friday, May 6, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

What: Visitor Information Center Open Houses: All visitor information centers will have new destination Insider Guides available along with treats. The downtown office will have food trucks.

Perdido Key Office: 15500 Perdido Key Drive
Pensacola Beach Office: 7 Casino Beach Boardwalk
