Popular paved routes include the Pensacola Beach Trail, Perdido Key Multi-Use Path, Community Maritime Park, and the General Chappie James Memorial Bridge. Johnson Beach offers a ½-mile multi-purpose trail plus shared roads with low speed limits, while Big Lagoon State Park and Fort Pickens also provide safe shared-road biking.
Downtown Pensacola is home to the Experience Pensacola Bike Loops, created by Bike Pensacola, which follow low-speed, low-traffic streets for a safe and enjoyable ride. Along these routes, you’ll pass historic homes, museums, and city parks and enjoy beautiful views of Pensacola Bay. For a completely traffic-free option, ride at Community Maritime Park, where a paved path circles the waterfront and offers scenic bayfront views.
Families will enjoy biking at Big Lagoon State Park, Johnson Beach, and the Perdido Key Multi-Use Trail, all of which offer safe and scenic routes. The General Chappie James Memorial Bridge also offers a pleasant ride with amazing bay views, making it perfect for a family outing.
For the most scenic rides, try the trails along Gulf Islands National Seashore (Johnson Beach and Fort Pickens), the paved paths on Pensacola Beach (east end of the beach), the Perdido Key Bike Loop, and the General Chappie James Memorial Bridge.
