Visit Pensacola Celebrated the Future of Travel During Annual National Travel & Tourism Week May 1-7, 2022
This week, Visit Pensacola celebrated The Future of Travel with industry peers, partners, and community members during the annual National Travel and Tourism Week. Announced on Tuesday at the Re-Visit Pensacola Summit, the industry is seeing record growth.
Here are a few highlights from the 2021 fiscal year.
- Welcomed over 2.4 million visitors
- Visitors spent over $1.2 billion in Escambia County, a 79% increase since 2014
- Employed over 22,000 people, accounting for 16% of all jobs in Escambia County and $619 million in wages.
- Tourism saved every household in Escambia County $630 in taxes

We Started The Week with the Hospitality Olympics
We had a blast at the Hospitality Olympics today! Thank you to everyone who participated, and congrats to team Bamboozers for taking home the Hospitality Olympics Cup! Enjoy the photos.
Visit Pensacola was joined today by industry peers, partners, and community stakeholders for the Re-Visit Pensacola Summit. Visit Pensacola gave an update on the Future of Travel in Pensacola noting strategic planning efforts, data presentations from Downs & St. Germain Research, a state update from Visit Florida, and a panel presentation with Escambia County community leaders.

Jones Creek Clean-up
Visit Pensacola partnered with Keep Pensacola Beautiful, Pensacola and Perdido Bay Estuary Program, and Clean Horizons for a clean-up at Jones Creek. We collected a total of 577 pounds of trash! The industry came together to care for the community we call home.
