"Vive la France" A Wine and Food Event Presented by Jackson's Steakhouse

For the 17th year, Jackson’s Steakhouse is proud to once again present a wine and food tasting, “Vive la France,” on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 5:30 p.m.

Bastille Day is the French national holiday, la Fête du 14 juillet. It commemorates the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789, an act that led to the conclusion of the French Revolution and the beginning of French independence. 

With Bastille Day serving as the inspiration for the tasting, our own Jean Pierre N’Dione has hand selected four stellar French wines to complement a selection of classic French dishes as prepared by Chefs Irv Miller and Jeremiah Taylor, The featured presentation for the evening is as follows:

Premier:

Escabèche de crevettes 

Hot pickled fresh local bay shrimp, vinegre de vin blanc, shallot, carrot and fennel mirepoix, aromatic spices, bay leaf, lemon and thyme paired with Charles de Fere Cuvee, Jean-Louis Blanc de Blanc Brut, NV

Deuxième:

Soupe créole de tomates et poireaux

Roasted smoked sweet pimentón tossed Louisiana tomatoes, cream braised leeks, toasted rustic French bread, sweet basil paired with Hetch & Bannier Minervois, Languedoc, Rouge 2023

Troisième:

Poisson en croûte de parmesan et miel

Panko, Parmesan and prosciutto-crusted freshest catch, lemon butter sauce, capers, parsley paired with Chateau de Saint Cosme, Cotes du Rhone, Blanc 2024

Quatrième:

Steak flambé à la crème de Dijon 

Filet medallion with cognac, shallots, garlic, champignon de Paris, Dijon mustard, worcestershire, beef broth, cream reduction and soubise whipped potatoes paired with Barton & Guestier, Medoc, Rouge 2022

Cinquième:

Tartelette amandine aux poires 

Croustade with local fig jam, frangipan, poached Anjou pear half
