Beach Dog Park Rules
All pets must be on a leash. Each dog must have proper tags on their leash or collar. You must clean up after your pets. Violations will be cited by Escambia County Animal Control Officers. Pets are only allowed at the designated dog parks.
Escambia County offers two dog parks on the Gulf. The parks are open May 1 - Oct. 31 from 7 a.m. to sunset and Nov. 1 to April 30 from sunrise to sunset. Pets are welcome at designated dog beaches located at lots 21.5 and 28.5, all other public beach areas and parks are off limits to pets.

Between Pensacola Beach Hilton and Holiday Inn Resort - Dune Walkover 23B – A sidewalk between two properties leads to this public dune walkover. There are no restroom facilities at this site.
East of Calle Hermosa — Dune Walkover 27
East of Calle Hermosa - Dune Walkover 27A – Located on Via de Luna just east of the main residential areas of the beach. There is an ADA compliant Port-o-let at this site as well as ramps to get up to the walkover itself.
West of Portofino Island Resort — Dune Walkover 27B
West of Portofino Island Resort - Dune Walkover 27B – Located on Via de Luna just west of the entrance to Portofino Island Resort. There is an ADA compliant Port-o-let at this site as well as ramps to get up to the walkover itself.
Your path to exploring the beaches of Pensacola just got a little easier. There are beach access points with boardwalks, and some of those have mobi mats. Please note that due to the soft sand beaches, the mobi mats only extend approximately two-thirds of the way to the waterline. If you’re looking to make your way through the sand, beach wheelchair rentals can be found here. Listed below are Accessible Beach Access Points (with boardwalks/ramps and/or mobi mats).
Dog Park East – Dune Walkover 28B
Dog Park East – Dune Walkover 28B – Located on Via de Luna, in the second parking lot east of Portofino. Leashed dogs are welcome in the park from sunrise to sunset, except during turtle season (May 1 – October 1) when the hours are 7 a.m. to sunset. There is an ADA compliant Port-o-let at this site as well as ramps to get up to the walkover itself.

Pensacola Beach’s iconic landmark, The Shell, is the focal point of the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk on Quietwater Beach where you’ll find many eateries and retail shops to keep everyone entertained.
Located on the safe and shallow waters along the Santa Rosa Sound, Quietwater is great for families with small children. Leave your car in the parking lot and take advantage of the free trolley service or bike around to explore the rest of the island from a new perspective.
Just east of the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk along Quietwater Beach and Little Sabine Bay you’ll find businesses with wave runners, kayaks, boats and other water-related rental equipment ready for a day of fun. From parasailing to paddleboarding, snorkeling to sunset sailing, family cruises to dolphin tours – Pensacola Beach has you covered for your next adventure.
Park East – Dune Walkover 29B, 29C, 29D
Park East – Dune Walkover 29B, 29C, 29D – Located on CR399, before the entrance to Gulf Islands National Seashore Opal Beach area, Park East offers ample parking and three ADA compliant dune walkovers. ADA accessible restrooms are also on site as well as ramps to get up to the walkover itself. A lifeguard station is also present during the key summer season.
Perdido Key State Park is a 290-acre Florida State Park located on a barrier island known as Perdido Key. Visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including swimming, fishing, picnicking, and wildlife viewing in this serene natural setting.
The park's undisturbed dunes and marshes provide essential habitat for nesting shorebirds and sea turtles, making it a vital conservation area along the Gulf of Mexico. At Perdido Key State Park, you can explore diverse ecosystems like dunes, marshes, and coastal forests, providing ample opportunities for nature enthusiasts and birdwatchers.
Located on Perdido Key Dr., Perdido Key Beach Access #4 is a paved parking lot with 35 parking spaces. There are portable restrooms as well as a small boardwalk walkover to access the beach. On Perdido Key access point #4, rescue tubes are installed to help distressed swimmers and it is handicap accessible.
Johnson Beach is a designated recreational area in Perdido Key on the Gulf Islands National Seashore. The location provides lifeguards, facilities and a parking lot and is ideal for water-based recreational activities and hiking. The park includes parking areas, seven accessible boardwalks, a pavilion, and a 1/2-mile bike/pedestrian trail.
